Wimbledon Weekend

Come join us this Friday and Saturday, June 21-22, for a fun Wimbledon Weekend at the Bloomington Tennis Club!
  • Friday night will be an adult mixer with a potluck dinner and strawberries and cream, Wimbledon style! 
  • Saturday morning we will be having a kids camp for all ages! 
  • Saturday afternoon there will be a BBQ lunch and swimming. Bring the whole family!

Bring your friends, family, spouses, neighbors, EVERYONE is welcome!!
The theme is "Wimbledon" so feel free to wear your best tennis whites and come have some fun!

Follow our "Bloomington Country Club Tennis" group on Facebook and share the post with the flyer to be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to a place of YOUR CHOICE! Also be entered by bringing a friend!

**All money will go towards improving our facilities and programs. Even if you are not able to attend, any amount of donation is appreciated.

Name: Indy Redd

Age: 9

1. How old were you when you started playing tennis? When I REALLY started I was like 7.

2. What is your favorite stroke? Um, backhand.

3. What are you working on right now? Mmmm.....my forehands? Kind of?

4. What are your future goals in tennis? Yes. I want to play high school and college.

5. What is your favorite thing about tennis? I don't know. Everything.

6. Who is your favorite Pro tennis player? So hard! I think it will be Djokovic.

7. What kind of racket do you use? Wilson Pro 26 BLX

8. What brand of shoe do you wear? Adidas

9. How has tennis changed you or what have you learned as you have progressed? What has it done for you and your life? Um...I met Stefan....and it made me move faster.

10. Are you getting ready for any tournaments? Yes. Liberty Park.

11. Any other comments? No.

Bloomington Euro Cup Open
May 28 - June 6, 2013
 
The Bloomington Euro Cup Open is a European style singles tournament. All abilities, male/female, and all ages 10 yrs + may enter. All players will go into one European style feed in draw. 
 
European style feed in:
  • Lower level players start 1st round
  • Higher levels feed in each round
  • Highest level players feed into round of 16 or quarterfinals
  • Double elimination and a backdraw

The entry fee is $15. All matches will be at Bloomington Country Club.

**IMPORTANT: Most matches around 8:30 p.m. when the temperature cools down just a bit.  Please let us know before-hand if there will be any days/times you are not available to play, otherwise, please plan on playing at your scheduled day/time. We are flexible with the schedule, however we do need to finish the tournament on time.


**DEADLINE is Saturday, May 25. Draw will be available Monday, May 27.

**First rounds(lower level players) will start Tuesday, May 28. Later feed-in rounds(higher level players) will start later that week.

1. How old were you when you started playing tennis?: Ummm....I don't know. I started at 6 or 7.

2. Why did you want to play tennis?: Because it sounded fun and I thought It'd be good to learn and play.
3. What is your favorite stroke?: Probably a forehand.
4. Have you played in any tennis tournaments?: Yes. A club tournament.
5. What is your favorite thing about tennis?: The competition.
6. What kind of racket do you use?: Wilson
7. What brand of shoe do you wear?: Nike
8. Any other comments?: Nope.

2. Why did you want to play tennis?: I like individual sports. I thought it would be fun to me.

4. Have you played in any tennis tournaments?: Nope. I will once I get good enough and think I might win some.

5. What is your favoite thing about tennis?: The physical activity I guess.

Name: Madi Eames

1.How old were you when you started playing tennis? 8


2.What is your favorite stroke? Hmm....SWING VOLLEY!


3. What are you working on right now? My backhand.

 
4. What are your future goals in tennis? Do you want to play High School Tennis? College Tennis? Play on the Pro Tour? 
I would love to play pro! But if that doesn't work out  I'll settle for college.

 
5. What is your favorite thing about tennis? 
  How much fun it is! It strengthens your mental game and it's healthy and you can hit the ball hard. And winning feels good :)


6. Who is your favorite Pro Tennis player?
Rafael Nadal.

7.What kind of a racket do you use? Wilson Juice

8. What brand of shoe do you wear? Adidas

9. How has tennis changed you or what have you learned as you have progressed? What has it done for you and your life?
Hmmm lets see...(whistles) It's given me more friends and I've learned to be a stronger person. Even when it's hard, I don't give up. It's the only thing I focus on.

Yes. Snowball.

Right now, high school.


5. What is your favorite thing about tennis? Winning!

6. Who is your favorite Pro Tennis player? Djokovic

I balance really well now and my hand-eye coordination has gotten better.

5.What is your favorite thing about tennis?: In soccer there's only one way to play, you kick the ball. In tennis I like the way you use certain strokes to play.
